During STEM Camp Invention, students at G.W.C STEM Learning Center used their critical thinking and communication skills to build and create alarm clocks. The STEM camp mentors led the class on how to assemble their clocks step by step and by the end of the day, each student had their very own alarm clock that could buzz at the push of a button. The students were able to complete the alarms using wire circuits and switches that triggered each button on their clocks. By the time everyone finished their alarms, we had a room full of alarm buzzers, laughing children, and proud mentors. Because of this camp, students are able to grow in their academic careers while still having fun and expressing themselves. This program allows kids to expand their knowledge of engineering in a hands on, creative atmosphere that is ideal for them to create a path to success for the future. Not only do they gain a strong basis of skill set, but they are also able to walk away with memories that will leave a lasting legacy on their childhood.
