There could never be too much learning going on in Lancaster ISD. At Rolling Hills Elementary School, who holds a number of STEM Camps, children are taking part in the ESY Acceleration Camp this summer.
Their smiling faces and waves were a great welcome into their classrooms. As I sat down for a little while, I got the chance to take a glance on what they were working on. In one of the classroom, they start their morning off with a little snack and computer time. In another, they were working in their SPLASH Activity workbooks. One of the teachers, Gwendolyn Jones, told me in our discussion that they work on nutrition, exercise, nature, coloring, matching, and plenty more. While in the middle of computer time, I got to connect with one of the students who I think has an talent for photography. I gave the young man my camera so that he could take a few pictures and it was as if it had made his day. That experience was certainly one to remember.
